Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a field inspector to support transportation construction projects at multiple locations. This on-site role involves inspecting traffic control, materials, and workmanship while coordinating with engineers and inspectors to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and 2 years of related experience. Some travel (20–40%) may be required depending on project needs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• ACI or NICET certification may be required by client/jurisdiction.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• 2 years of related experience.
• Travel may be required (domestic and/or international).

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials under direct supervision.
• Review daily reports and contractor QC procedures; verify conformance with Quality Control Plan.
• Review material testing procedures and results; measure quantities of materials placed; may perform sampling and in-place testing.
