Job summary

CDM Smith's Transportation Construction, Engineering and Inspection group seeks a field inspector to perform on-site inspections at project locations across multiple states. You will gain hands-on experience with highway construction, quality control, and data collection under direct supervision.

You will review contractor work, contribute to material testing observations, and prepare daily reports. A high school diploma, valid driver’s license, and up to 40% travel are required; certifications

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required.
Certifications from a State Highway Agency or NICET/ACI may be required.
Valid driver's license is required.
At least 2 years of related field experience preferred.
Domestic/international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, methods and materials under supervision.
Review contractor daily reports and verify QC procedures and material testing.
Review testing procedures, measure quantities, and may perform sampling or in-place testing.
