Job summary

HMR Veteran Services in Fort Worth, TX is seeking an experienced RN Unit Manager to lead the nursing team and uphold veterans’ care and dignity.

Reporting to the Director of Nursing, you will coordinate daily activities, supervise staff, review care plans, and ensure effective communication with physicians and families, while maintaining compliance with policies, quality assurance, and surveys.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Current, active Texas RN license.
• Knowledge of nursing practices and long-term care requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise nursing staff and ensure care follows policies and standards.
• Make unit rounds and address veterans’ care needs.
• Review and update care plans with the care team.
• Communicate changes in condition to physicians and families.
• Complete audits, review incident reports and investigate abuse or neglect.
• Support infection prevention, QA, and facility surveys.
• Lead staff meetings and participate in orientation and continuing education.
• Address veteran and family concerns and document follow-up.
• Provide direct nursing care as needed.
