Job summary

Alpha is seeking a Reading Program Coordinator to drive literacy growth in K-3 students on-site at Alpha campuses. You will guide app-based learning, diagnose decoding gaps, and lead targeted sessions with small groups.

Morning launches and daily routines shape the child’s day as you maintain ambitious weekly goals. Responsibilities include coaching, data-driven instruction, and continuous engagement with parents and staff to close gaps.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years working directly with children ages 4-9 in teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, or similar settings.
• At least 2 years of that experience teaching reading in grades K-3, within the last 5 years.
• Completed structured-literacy training (e.g., LETRS, IMSE, Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, Fundations, UFLI, CERI, Neuhaus, SIPPS) or a master’s in reading or literacy.
• Bachelor's degree in any subject; a teaching certificate is not required
• Comfortable spending about 70% of the day guiding students through app-based learning and 30% on targeted reading sessions
• Willing to work with all K-3 students, not only struggling readers
• Legally authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Coaching students through app-based core learning and spotting who is stuck.
• Running targeted structured-literacy sessions with two to four students and diagnosing gaps.
• Leading morning launch, life-skills workshops, and check-chart activities.
• Driving students to weekly app goals with leaderboards and gamification.
• Staying with students through lunch, recess, closing, and reading interventions.
