Job summary

Alpha School is seeking a Reading Program Coordinator to guide K-3 students through app-based core learning and targeted literacy sessions on-site. You will drive daily goals, diagnose gaps, and tailor sequences to close them, staying with students through routines and meals.

The role emphasizes diagnostic planning, data-driven instruction, and campus-wide collaboration, with relocation support for campus openings across the country. A strong literacy background is essential.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years direct work with children ages 4-9 in teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, or similar settings.
• At least 2 years of that experience teaching reading in grades K-3 within the last 5 years.
• Completed structured-literacy training or a master's in reading or literacy.
• Bachelor's degree in any subject; teaching certificate not required.
• Willing to work on-site with relocation support; legally authorized to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Get every K-3 student to daily learning goals and close reading gaps.
• Lead targeted structured-literacy sessions for small groups of 2–4.
• Manage morning launch, workshops, and daily classroom routines.
• Drive weekly app goals using gamification and leaderboards.
• Stay with students through lunch, recess, and reading interventions.
