Job summary

BB&E is seeking a Construction Engineering Technician to support NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic on-site at NS Newport, RI. You will coordinate quality management, supervise testing, and ensure safety compliance across complex systems in a live construction environment.

Responsibilities include reviewing QC plans with the CM, conducting site safety activities, coordinating with NAVFAC and contractors, and assisting with documentation and closeout tasks.

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required and the candidate must be able to obtain/maintain a security clearance.
• Certification: USACE Construction CQM Certification within 60 days of start date.
• Familiar with crane safety requirements and NAVFAC P-307 guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee quality management on assigned projects and review contractor QC plans.
• Attend QC meetings, monitor three-phase checklists, and document test results.
• Coordinate safety programs, conduct site safety reviews, and manage crane operations compliance.
• Support technical coordination with NAVFAC CM, review submittals, and ensure environmental compliance.
