Job summary

The Weitz Company is hiring a Project Engineer to be located on our Iowa jobsites in Cedar Rapids, IA or Des Moines, IA. You will support planning, buyout, management and closeout, reporting to the Project Manager and collaborating with a team on commercial and mission-critical projects.

Two years’ project engineering experience, leadership ability and a relevant college degree are required. Data center experience is strongly preferred, with proficiency in Procore, JDE, and Asta.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years’ project engineering experience.
• Fast-paced environment experience.
• Proven ability to lead, teach, develop and mentor others.
• Industry-related college degree.
• Data center experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organize, review, update, maintain and post construction documents and drawings.
• Collaborate with project team to complete RFIs.
• Review submittals for accuracy against plans and specs.
• Assist in inspections, audits and non-conformance log.
• Monitor material and equipment delivery status.
• Maintain project logs (buyouts, submittals, RFIs).
• Understand scopes for subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Track change requests and draft change orders within authority.
• Support project schedule management.
• Attend project meetings and distribute minutes.
• Gather closeout information and assist with warranty process.
