Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking an on-site Project Engineer to oversee project administration, manage office engineers and jobsite staff, and ensure the project meets its financial and scheduling goals. You will liaise with owners, suppliers, and trade partners to resolve changes and disputes.

The role requires driving the project to success with attention to detail, using BIM/VDC tools, and coordinating across teams to maintain progress and quality.

Qualifications

• A 4-year degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture, or construction management.
• Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience on large commercial construction projects. Valid Driver’s License.
• Strong communication skills.
• Computer software - Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel based templates, Prolog, Primavera and AutoDesk Suite

Responsibilities

• Assist the project manager and superintendents by preparing monthly owner pay applications.
• Identify and resolve interface conflicts between the company and trade partners.
• Support field supervisors on drawings, RFIs, and questions for architects/engineers.
• Develop and manage cost control and labor recap with the project team.
• Process and estimate potential change orders and information requests.
• Assist in development and management of the project schedule.
• Participate in jobsite safety meetings and quality control.
