Job summary

Howmet Aerospace, located in Whitehall, MI, is seeking a Project Engineer/Specialist to join the Manufacturing Technology Group (MTech) at our Research and Development Center. You will lead engineering projects for process improvements, coordinate equipment builds, and supervise field and shop personnel.

You will manage schedules, budgets, and supplier relationships, ensuring projects meet customer requirements and safety standards while collaborating with design engineers and fabrication teams.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or equivalent with 3+ years in project builds/manufacturing
• Alternative: Associate degree + 7+ years in project builds/manufacturing
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US; no visa sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Develop project concepts and engineered solutions for process issues in investment casting and coating
• Manage project build schedules within budget and delivery timelines
• Coordinate equipment build process, shipment, installation, and on-site deployment
• Supervise technicians and team members during build while adhering to EHS requirements
• Maintain relationships with customers and vendors; solicit bids and quotes
• Provide engineering solutions and document changes during development and construction
