Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan is seeking a Site Project Controls Lead in Morenci, AZ to oversee project controls across multiple plant projects, delivering cost, schedule, and risk management with standard practices.

You will lead Cost Leads/Engineers and Schedulers, ensure accurate forecasts and reporting, and partner with Contracts and ES teams to streamline change management and DOA processes while upholding company standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business related field and eight years of project controls or equivalent experience, or
• High school diploma and twelve years of project controls or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Project and Outlook.
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
• Ability to multi-task in a high paced project environment.
• Experience with ERP systems SAP and P6 and other project performance software.
• Understanding of Accounting functions and systems.
• Site specific training/MSHA required to work at site.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, review, and maintenance of monthly, quarterly, and annual project forecasts.
• Ensure timely delivery of project controls reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) per SOPs.
• Identify design/scope changes and schedule impacts; manage Change Order/PCN Log with Contracts.
• Maintain project schedule baselines and oversee weekly schedule updates with schedulers.
• Ensure compliance with project controls standards and prepare supporting documentation.
• Oversee progress measurement and validate progress percentages per rules of credit.
• Review AFE requests for completeness and accuracy.
• Manage the site DOA process and EPMS data; verify budget availability for procurements.
• Oversee service orders and pay applications for project execution.
• Develop fit-for-purpose WBS codes to organize scope and improve tracking.
• Perform other duties as required.
