Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. in Morenci, Arizona, is seeking a qualified Engineering professional to review, investigate, and develop recommendations for complex site projects in a safe, compliant, and cost-conscious manner.

You will manage programs, provide SME guidance on regulatory requirements, and contribute to budgeting and AFE processes for designated Engineering areas. PE certification and experience in large-scale open pit mining are valued assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline and 5 years of related experience, OR Master's degree with 3 years of related experience.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of Engineering; ability to analyze information and draw valid conclusions.

Responsibilities

• Review, investigate, and develop recommendations regarding assigned Engineering projects.
• Manage projects and serve as SME on large/complex site planning, construction, expansion or modifications.
• Provide guidance to site management on processes and regulations.
• Contribute to site strategic planning and budgeting for designated Engineering areas.
• Develop and evaluate AFEs for capital funding requests.
• May evaluate and manage contracts with vendors for services and equipment.
• May represent the site on company steering committees or task forces.
• Perform other duties as required.
