Job summary

SEO (Sponsors for Educational Opportunity) is seeking a Site Assistant to support SEO Scholars Summer Academy operations at program sites in New York. This on-site, part-time role focuses on technology maintenance, logistics, and student-facing activities during the program schedule.

You will check in scholars and staff, set up attendance and Zoom tools, manage inventory and meals, and help maintain a welcoming, organized environment for students and teachers across partner campuses.

Qualifications

• Excellent organizational skills, detail orientation, and ability to multitask and handle challenging priorities.
• Resourceful and solutions-oriented; flexible to work either in-person or virtual environments when needed.
• Comfortable with and skilled at navigating technological learning systems.
• Sound judgement, maturity and ability to communicate and serve as a role model to high school students.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, team based environment; strong communication.
• Capable of lifting and carrying boxes up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Check in scholars, instructors, and program staff; direct to different spaces on campus.
• Navigate program technology: attendance tracker, barcode scanners and Zoom chat; provide support as needed.
• Track inventory and distribute items like Metrocards, totebags, and tech loaned for the day.
• Lunch distribution on-site to scholars.
• Support end-of-day closing, inventory, and material storage.
• Project an energetic, approachable persona to promote student engagement and community.
