Job summary

Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) is seeking a Site Assistant to support SEO Scholars' Summer Academy operations at UC Law Campus, San Francisco. This on-site role focuses on technology maintenance, equipment distribution, and daily program support for a technology-driven educational environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask with high school students, and a proactive approach to problem solving in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Execute morning set-up for Saturday Academy with check-in materials and supplies.
• Facilitate scholar check-in using attendance systems and report attendance, absences, and tardies.
• Oversee distribution of breakfast, snacks, and lunches for scholars.
• Distribute technology (laptops, headphones, hotspots) and maintain records of devices.
• Diagnose and resolve Chromebook issues and report to SEO IT if needed.
• Provide on-site A/V tech support to ensure smooth classrooms operations.
• Oversee site cleanliness and maintenance.
• Assist with end-of-day closing procedures and material storage.
• Support program operations with general tasks and errands.

Work Arrangement: This role requires on-site work at an SEO program site

Hours: 8:00AM-4:30 PM

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Site Assistant support in the execution of SEO Scholars' Summer Academy operations including technology maintenance and troubleshooting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Site Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our technology-driven educational environment. Your responsibilities will include:

• Executing morning set-up for Saturday Academy, including check-in materials and program supplies.
• Facilitating the scholar check-in process, including efficiently utilizing attendance tracking systems to accurately record and report student attendance, absences, and tardies.
• Overseeing distribution of breakfast, snacks, and lunches for all scholars.
• Managing the distribution of technology (laptops, headphones, hotspots, etc.) to students and instructors, maintaining accurate records of permanent and/or borrowed devices and other SEO owned equipment.
• Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving Chromebook issues reported by students, promptly ensuring optimal functionality and reporting to SEO IT if devices are not meeting that expectation.
• Providing technical support for on-site A/V equipment (projectors, sound systems, and related components) used by instructors, ensuring classrooms operate smoothly without technical challenges.
• Overseeing program site cleanliness and maintenance.
• Supporting end-of-day closing procedures, including moving program materials to storage, and replenishing snacks and supplies.
• Contributing to the overall production of program operations by executing general program support, including delivering materials to classes, providing technology support, and executing other necessary errands.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• Excellent organizational skills, detail orientation, and ability to multitask and handle changing priorities.
• Sound judgment, maturity, and ability to communicate and serve as a role model to high school students.
• Highly resourceful and solutions-oriented with the ability to diagnose issues and ensure timely problem resolution.
• Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong team player, capable of collaborating effectively with colleagues and educators to ensure the smooth functioning of the program.
• Move, lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds to shoulder height.

Preferred:

• An avid interest in technology or computer science, or an ambition to pursue a future role in the field of information technology.
• Demonstrated proficiency in working with various technology tools including Google Workspace, ChromeOS, Chromebooks, barcode scanners, classroom A/V equipment, and other technology.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

This position averages 8-10 hours per week. The compensation listed reflects what SEO believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and SEO reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
