Job summary

Alpha Generation seeks a Maintenance Manager for the Astoria Generating Station in Queens, NY. This on-site leadership role directs maintenance, budgeting, and administrative functions for the station, overseeing supervisors and planning teams to sustain reliable operation.

The position requires strong experience in steam turbines, power boilers, outage management, safety programs, and collective bargaining with Local 1-2.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent power plant experience.
• 10+ years of experience in power plant operations or maintenance.
• Knowledge of steam technologies, boilers, turbines, and controls.
• Experience managing in utility or power generation environments.
• Experience with asset management (EAM/CMMS).
• Knowledge of Local 1-2 union agreements.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day maintenance, budgeting, and admin functions of the station maintenance department.
• Provide leadership to maintenance supervisors and planning department.
• Develop and manage annual maintenance budget aligned with objectives.
• Support collective bargaining agreement administration (Local 1-2).
• Drive productivity, safety, and continuous improvement across staff.
