Veolia in North America is seeking a skilled Maintenance Manager for the Brooklyn Navy Yard Cogeneration Plant to supervise daily maintenance, ensure plant safety and environmental compliance, and optimize uptime. The role demands managing outages, coordinating among contractors, and maintaining Maximo CMMS.

The ideal candidate has a technical degree, extensive power-plant maintenance experience, and strong leadership to mentor staff and drive continuous improvement in safety and operations.

Qualifications

• A technical undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience is required.
• Extensive experience in natural gas fired combined cycle power plant operations and maintenance is highly desired.
• Experience with LOTO process and procedures is desired.
• Working knowledge of instrumentation and controls, electricity, rotating equipment, power plant mechanics and operations are highly desired.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and controls with attention to detail desired.
• Experience managing plant outages with multiple contractors.
• Experience supervising hourly personnel, strong leadership and motivational skills are required.

Responsabilités

• Ensures the safe and quality maintenance of the plant equipment, buildings, and grounds in accordance with established Maintenance Procedures.
• Takes necessary corrective action in accordance with established procedures and industry best practices and directs maintenance personnel in inspection and repair of plant equipment.
• Verifies work order completion in a timely manner and prioritizes maintenance work orders to estimate man-hours and parts needs.
• Conducts periodic inspections of the plant to ensure safety and adherence to procedures.
• Perform and assist in troubleshooting activities as required.
• Supervises and oversees maintenance staff training and safety programs; ensures adequate staffing.
• Assists with screening and hiring, and administers contracts for external contractors; plans outages and overhauls.
• Conducts regular safety meetings and reports any incidents with root-cause analysis.
