Job summary

AlphaGen is seeking a Maintenance Manager for the Astoria Generating Station (Astoria Generating LLC) in Queens, NY. The role leads all station maintenance, budgeting, planning, and outage execution to ensure reliable, safe operations.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, 10+ years in power plant maintenance, and experience with CMMS/EAM and regulatory compliance. This is an on-site, 100% in-field leadership role with extended hours during outages.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; power/utility experience preferred.
Minimum of 10 years in power plant operations or maintenance.
Experience with collective bargaining agreements (Local 1-2) desired.
Strong leadership, communication, and budgeting skills.

Responsibilities

Manage all day-to-day maintenance, fiscal, and administrative functions of the station maintenance department.
Provide leadership to plant maintenance supervisors, IC&E/technical supervisors, and the planning department.
Establish and manage the annual maintenance budget.
Support administration of the Local 1-2 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Drive productivity, teamwork, open communication, and high-performance standards.
Provide regular performance feedback and encourage improvement.
Enforce safety and environmental programs and regulatory compliance.
Coordinate with Planning and Scheduling to implement work management best practices.
Monitor work plans, schedules, and costs for outages and major maintenance events.
