Job summary

Electrical Automation Services is seeking a PLC Controls Engineer for an on-site role based in Tempe/Glendale, AZ. The position supports high-speed beverage manufacturing, providing Tier 1–2 troubleshooting, automation leadership, and project execution across PLCs, HMIs, and motion-control systems.

The ideal candidate has an Associate degree in automation or related field and 4+ years of experience in a similar setting, with strong PLC skills and cross-functional collaboration capabilities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering technology, information systems, industrial automation and controls, or related discipline; equivalent experience considered.
• 4+ years in industrial automation/controls in high-speed manufacturing (beverage, food, pharma, etc).
• Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming capabilities.
• Experience with HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, instrumentation, and industrial networks.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings; work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as on‑shift controls and automation expert for the Glendale/Tempe operation.
• Provide Tier 1 and 2 troubleshooting for production, processing, and packaging equipment.
• Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, instrumentation, and network issues.
• Implement permanent corrective actions for recurring problems.
• Lead controls projects to improve safety, quality, reliability, and throughput.
• Maintain controls documentation, electrical drawings, and backups.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and quality teams.
