Software Placement Group in Germantown, MD seeks a qualified Phlebotomist for a contract role based in Germantown, MD. The position is full-time and on-site, with a potential for permanent placement after an initial 3-month assignment.

You will perform blood draws, label specimens, and maintain accurate records in a clinical lab setting while complying with OSHA and DEP regulations. Certification and a minimum of five years venipuncture experience are required.

Qualificações

• Valid phlebotomy certification required.
• Minimum 5 years venipuncture in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.

Responsabilidades

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge samples, and record maintenance data.
• Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture and specimen collection methods to patients clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Follow physicians' orders and match requisitions to specimens.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check test requisitions against labels to ensure 100% accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples at required temperatures.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
• Answer calls and relay laboratory results to inquiries.
