Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist for a full-time position at a client site in Glenview. The role includes venipuncture collection, specimen processing, and order entry in multiple systems. You will work Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.

to 5:30 p.m., delivering excellent customer service and accurate lab testing support. The ideal candidate will have phlebotomy certification or equivalent experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well within a team

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Phlebotomy certification or CMA/one year phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Experience with processing lab specimens and handling EMR systems is preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.

Responsibilities

Performs phlebotomy and other lab specimen collections per age-related standards and policies.
Demonstrates AIDET model and optimizes patient safety to reduce errors.
Receives and reviews physician orders; enters orders for lab tests per policy.
Provides post-phlebotomy patient care and communication with patients.
Processes specimens to ensure stability and integrity; labels, centrifuges, aliquots, and packs for transport.
