Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and other lab specimen collections per age related standards and in accordance with departmental policies, protocols and procedures.
• Demonstrates AIDET model and optimizes patient safety to reduce errors.
• Receives and reviews physician orders; ensures complete information for lab services and enters orders accordingly.
• Communicates patient information and post- phlebotomy patient care as needed.
• Processes specimens and ensures stability and integrity of samples; labels, centrifuges and packages as required.
• Maintains equipment operation and coordinates test orders, results, and communications with staff.
