Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification required by state.
• Minimum 6 months venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in phlebotomy or related lab work.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and specimen collection as required.
• Explain venipuncture procedures clearly to patients.
• Demonstrate proper technique with straight or butterfly needles.
• Follow physicians' orders and match requisition forms to specimens.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Store specimens at required temperatures and transport appropriately.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend trainings.
• Answer calls and relay lab results as needed.
• Record maintenance data and assist with workflow improvements.
