Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a pharmacist to provide prescription verification and pharmacy expertise within a micro fulfillment center, ensuring patients receive high-quality service. The role performs pharmacist responsibilities independently and with peers to support accurate dispensing and compliant processes.

Responsibilities include reviewing and dispensing medications within workflow, supporting pharmacy operations, maintaining HIPAA compliance, and ensuring adherence to federal and state laws.

Qualifications

• BS in Pharmacy or Pharmacist Degree from an accredited educational institution.
• Current Pharmacist license as granted by state licensing authorities.
• Experience working with confidential information.
• Willingness to work non-standard hours, including evenings, holidays and/or weekends.
• Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, meeting quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Performs fulfillment center pharmacist tasks including prescription verification and data review; ensures accuracy and appropriateness of medications.
• Reviews, interprets and dispenses prescribed medications within pharmacy workflow.
• Supports the efficient workflow of the pharmacy and assists the team in optimizing pharmacy financials, inventory management and processes.
• Maintains current knowledge of pharmacy IT systems and workflow to support staff and promote productivity and quality.
• Responds to information requests and policy interpretation from pharmacy staff and leadership; provides clear feedback or coaching for adherence to policy and process.
• Responsible for questions and issues related to prescription fulfillment processes within the micro fulfillment center.
• Follows guidelines to meet goals and adheres to HIPAA guidelines/regulations and all applicable laws.

Education

BS in Pharmacy or Pharmacist Degree
