Job summary

Walgreens Co. is seeking a pharmacist to verify prescriptions and support the fulfillment center pharmacy workflow. The role requires independence and collaboration to ensure accuracy, quality, and patient safety, following HIPAA guidelines and federal/state laws.

Responsibilities include verification, dispensing within the workflow, and contributing to inventory management and process improvements. Non-standard hours including evenings and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• BS in Pharmacy or Pharmacist Degree from an accredited educational institution.
• Current Pharmacist license as granted by the appropriate state licensing authorities.
• Willing to work non-standard hours, including evenings and/or weekends.
• Experience handling confidential information.
• Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Performs fulfillment center pharmacist tasks including, but not limited to prescription verification and data review; takes necessary actions to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of medications.
• Reviews, interprets and accurately dispenses prescribed medications within pharmacy workflow.
• Supports efficient workflow of the pharmacy and assists the pharmacy team in identifying ways to optimize pharmacy financials, inventory management and enhance processes that drive a safe, and quality output.
• Maintains current knowledge of information technology associated with pharmacy systems including workflow, prescription fulfillment, clinical documentation, training, and inventory management to provide support to pharmacy staff.
• Responds to requests for information and/or policy interpretation from the pharmacy staff and leadership; provides clear, effective feedback or coaching to ensure policy and process adherence.
• Responsible for all questions, dialogues, and issues related to prescription fulfillment processes within the micro fulfillment center.
• Follows guidelines and procedures to meet goals; adheres to HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy laws.

Education
