Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a pharmacist to verify prescriptions and support fulfillment center operations. You will collaborate with pharmacists and staff to maintain accuracy and high-quality service, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and pharmacy laws.

The role emphasizes data review, adherence to policies, and continuous process improvement to optimize workflow, inventory, and financial performance in a high-volume setting.

Qualifications

• BS in Pharmacy or PharmD and at least one year in a retail pharmacy environment.
• Current Pharmacist license as granted by the appropriate state licensing authority.
• Experience motivating team members to resolve issues.
• Experience handling confidential information.
• Willing to work non-standard hours including evenings, holidays and/or weekends.
• Strong time management and ability to juggle multiple projects with deadlines.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and escalate when needed.
• Proven customer service experience with internal and external customers.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% for business (within state and out of state).

Responsibilities

• Performs prescription verification and data review to ensure accuracy and medication appropriateness.
• Reviews, interprets and dispenses prescribed medications within pharmacy workflow.
• Supports pharmacy workflow and helps optimize financials, inventory management, and processes.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of pharmacy IT systems and inventories to assist staff.
• Provides clear feedback or coaching to staff to ensure policy adherence and quality.
• Handles questions related to prescription fulfillment within the micro fulfillment center.
• Follows HIPAA guidelines and all company policies in daily duties.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy laws.
