Job summary

Berger Moving & Storage in Roseville, Minnesota, is seeking a Payroll Specialist to own and process weekly payroll for our multi-state team of approximately 370 employees. This on-site role collaborates with HR and Benefits, ensuring tax compliance and accurate deductions.

You will manage payroll reviews, respond to queries, and handle year-end activities with Paylocity and state authorities. A CPP is preferred; a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance is desirable.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive payroll experience, ideally multi-state.
• Experience with a modern payroll processing system; Paylocity experience is preferred.
• Solid foundation in payroll accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and payroll-related G/L accounts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Own and process weekly payroll for a multi-state workforce, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor payroll tax compliance across states and jurisdictions.
• Prepare weekly payroll journal entries and assist with reconciliations.
• Produce weekly, monthly, and ad hoc payroll reports for management.
