Job summary

Main Line Health in Media, PA seeks a Patient Financial Counselor to help patients navigate insurance benefits, apply for financial assistance, and understand financial responsibilities for ED, inpatient, and outpatient care. This on-site role collaborates with Social Workers and care coordinators.

Two to three years in healthcare billing or AR, one year of MS Office, knowledge of billing regulations, and EPIC experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years in healthcare billing or accounts receivable is required.
• 1 year of Microsoft Office applications required.
• Knowledge of insurance contracts, billing regulations and medical terminology.
• Bilingual candidates are strongly preferred.
• Experience with EPIC strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with navigating insurance benefits and applying for financial assistance.
• Communicate financial responsibilities related to emergency, inpatient, post-acute and outpatient care.
• Collaborate with Social Workers/Care Coordinators/Case Managers and care team.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payer contracts and billing procedures.
