Job summary

Colliers Project Leaders is seeking an experienced Project Manager-Owner's Rep to lead design, construction, and closeout phases for education, commercial, and institutional projects in the New Brunswick, New Jersey area. You will be the client on-site five days a week, coordinating architects, engineers, and other consultants to deliver projects on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate has aBachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 5 years of experience in building design,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architecture, or construction management.
• At least 5 years of experience in building design/construction, architecture, and/or engineering.
• Previous experience as an Owner's Rep preferred.
• Experience with permits and zoning laws preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project management, financial management, codes, contract law and related legislation.
• Ability to lead client relations, design, construction, and FF&E processes and manage cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple concurrent complex construction projects from start to finish - on time and on budget.
• Build strong client relationships and bring people together to develop innovative ideas and solutions.
• Demonstrate understanding of project management process and roles of architects, engineers, and consultants.
• Manage client goals within financial and schedule parameters for multiple stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate issues related to scheduling, logistics, sequencing, cost, quality, and progress; negotiate claims and change orders.
• Review project documents, budgets, schedules, contracts and proposals for conformance and value engineering.
• Develop project documents such as monthly reports, budgets, schedules, and minutes; ensure accuracy and reporting.
