Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a Site Operations Supervisor to oversee day-to-day site activities and drive safe, efficient performance across all equipment and staff.

You will recruit, train, and evaluate personnel to ensure service commitments are met while maintaining a professional workplace. The role requires strong leadership, safety discipline, and hands-on management of maintenance programs, with the ability to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years in the waste industry preferred (landfill or transfer operations).
• 1 year supervisory experience required.
• SWANA transfer station certification within 60 days of hire for transfers.
• Landfill role requires baler/forklift experience and training for removal of Freon and hazardous materials.

Responsibilities

• Supervise site operations and staff to meet service commitments.
• Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws and pay according to guidelines.
• Maintain safe working conditions and lead safety meetings.
• Develop preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and costs.
• Manage records and inventory of supplies and materials.
• Operate equipment as required and enforce company policies.
