Job summary

Dominion Women’s Health is seeking an on-site Medical Coder with CPC credentials to assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes. The role requires attention to detail and the ability to work independently while communicating effectively with clinicians and staff.

Responsibilities include coding accuracy, billing submissions, addressing denials, and supporting quality initiatives. Candidates must pass a background check and drug screening; the team emphasizes confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Certified Professional Coder or Certified Professional Coder Apprentice.
• 1-2 years of coding experience preferred; newly certified may be considered.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Must submit to background investigation and pre-employment/random drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze medical records to assign accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
• Ensure compliance with federal regulations, payer guidelines, and internal policies.
• Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to clarify documentation and coding questions.
• Prepare and submit coding information for billing and reimbursement.
• Managing insurance denials.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives as needed.
• Answering the phones, assist patients with billing and insurance questions, creating payment arrangements with patients, assisting front desk with insurance and balance related questions
