Job summary

Hawthorne Residential Partners in Charleston, SC, is seeking a Resident Services Technician II to maintain our community’s buildings and homes. This full-time, on-site role handles routine and emergency maintenance across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, and carpentry, while guiding residents and coordinating with vendors.

You’ll support preventive maintenance, handle work orders, and assist with turnovers and inspections, working with the maintenance and property management teams to keep

Qualifications

• Experience with basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances and building systems.
• Strong maintenance and preventive maintenance skills for efficient upkeep.
• Effective troubleshooting to diagnose problems and implement safe solutions.
• Hands-on field service experience on-site and coordinating with vendors.
• Excellent customer service, clear communication and resident focus.
• Preferred: multifamily or facilities maintenance background; safety/building codes familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency maintenance in apartments and common areas.
• Respond to service requests, troubleshoot issues, and complete work orders.
• Support preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend asset life.
• Interact professionally with residents and explain repairs.
• Coordinate with vendors/contractors as needed.
• Assist with unit turnovers and inspections; collaborate with teams to ensure a clean, safe environment.
