Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an experienced MEP/Construction Engineer to lead multi-disciplinary teams through lifecycle stages of high-visibility projects in the Austin area. You will develop drawings, specifications and reports for aerospace, industrial, and commercial facilities while coordinating with design teams and utilities.

You will negotiate contracts and resolve on-site conflicts, ensuring timely delivery, safety and adherence to codes. Occasional travel to SpaceX sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• 3+ years of professional experience with the design or build of MEP building systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project team, consulting engineers and contractors throughout the entirety of the mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning process.
• Develop and issue drawings, design documentation, and reports for aerospace, industrial, and commercial type projects
• Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines through contract close-out
• Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real-time
• Coordinate with electrical utility provider for design/engineering to ensure reliable power service to critical site infrastructure
• Interact with engineers, contractors, fabricators, and project stakeholders
