Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an MEP/Construction Engineer to join the Austin-area Construction Projects Team. You will lead multidisciplinary teams through design, procurement, construction and commissioning of large capital projects, with opportunities to work at other SpaceX facilities.

The role requires on-site work, travel up to 25%, and the ability to work under tight deadlines while ensuring safety and compliance with relevant codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or other engineering discipline.
• 3+ years of professional experience with the design or build of MEP building systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project team, consulting engineers and contractors throughout the entirety of the mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning process
• Develop and issue drawings, design documentation, and reports for aerospace, industrial, and commercial type projects
• Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines through contract close-out
• Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real-time
• Coordinate with electrical utility provider for design/engineering to ensure reliable power service to critical site infrastructure
• Interact with engineers, contractors, fabricators, and project stakeholders
