Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an MEP/Construction Engineer to join the Construction Projects Team in the Austin area. You will lead multi-discipline engineering, procurement, and construction efforts to design and activate infrastructure supporting SpaceX’s long-term mission.

The role requires a Bachelor's in an engineering field and 3+ years of MEP project experience, with travel and potential site rotations across SpaceX facilities as needed. Onsite work is required with possible extended hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• 3+ years of professional experience with the design or build of MEP building systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project team, consulting engineers and contractors throughout the entirety of the mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning process.
• Develop and issue drawings, design documentation, and reports for aerospace, industrial, and commercial type projects.
• Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines through contract close-out.
• Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real-time.
• Coordinate with electrical utility provider for design/engineering to ensure reliable power service to critical site infrastructure.
• Interact with engineers, contractors, fabricators, and project stakeholders.
