Qualifications

• Meet minimum California auto insurance requirements.
• Pass the UC Davis Health Interpreter Competency Test or hold Nationally Certified Medical Interpreter.
• Valid California driver’s license and driving record per local policies; may enroll in Employer Pull Notice Program.
• Must be fluent in English and target language(s).
• Knowledge of medical terminology in source and target languages.
• Ability to interpret both directions with fidelity to the original message.
• Professional, empathetic interaction with diverse patients.

Responsibilities

• 90% - Oral Interpreting.
• 10% - Record keeping and other duties.
