Job summary

UC Davis Health seeks an interpreter to provide on-site oral interpretation for non-English-speaking and LEP patients, ensuring effective communication between patients and healthcare providers to support access to high-quality, patient-centered care. This role is 100% on-site at the Patient Contact Center.

Responsibilities include 90% oral interpreting and 10% record keeping and other duties, with salary around $35.95 per hour and per diem staff appointment.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in English and target language(s).
• Knowledge of medical terminology in source and target languages.
• Skills to perform interpretation accurately, completely, and clearly with fidelity to the original communication.
• Certification from an independent medical interpreter school or program preferred.
• Minimum of 6 months of dedicated healthcare interpreter experience preferred.
