Job summary

UC Davis Health in Sacramento is seeking a full-time Medical Interpreter I to provide accurate oral interpretation for non-English-speaking patients and LEP individuals, facilitating clear communication between patients and healthcare providers to ensure access to high-quality, patient-centered care. The position is 100% on-site at the Patient Contact Center with a 9:30 AM–6:00 PM schedule.

The salary range is $28.63–$37.73 hourly, with benefits and a 153 salary grade.

Qualifications

• Proof of California Auto Insurance requirement.
• Active Certification or Language Assessment: Healthcare Interpreter National Certification through CCHI or Medical Interpreting Certification through NBCMI. For hires without a National Certification, proof of a passing score on the UC Davis language assessment is required.
• Must hold a valid California driver's license and driving record per local policies.
• Must be fluent in English and target language(s).

Responsibilities

• 90% - Oral Interpreting.
• 10% - Record keeping and other duties.
