Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) seeks a Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer to support the Manufacturing Engineering and Technology Development Group. You will apply engineering principles to projects advancing stockpile stewardship, including additive manufacturing and metrology.

This is an on-site role in LLNL's MED division, with responsibilities across design, analysis, and experimental work.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Strong fundamentals in engineering principles and technologies and their applications.
• Experience interpreting specifications and technical drawings, machining and inspection operations.
• Ability to work independently and in teams with good organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering solutions of limited complexity for fabrication, tooling design, and procedure development.
• Perform inspected operations and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Develop and execute DoE studies to optimize process parameters.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve goals.
• Present technical approaches and project plans to peers and program managers.
• Utilize MES for data entry and manufacturing optimization.
