Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is seeking a Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer to join the Manufacturing Engineering and Technology Development Group. You will lead projects supporting stockpile stewardship, applying additive manufacturing and metrology, and proposing technologies to meet program objectives.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DOE Q-level clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Materials Engineering or equivalent.
• Fundamental engineering knowledge with machining and inspection experience and ability to read drawings.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering solutions for fabrication of components, including tooling design.
• Perform inspection operations and interpret specifications and drawings.
• Develop and execute Design of Experiments (DoE) to optimize process parameters.
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams to achieve engineering goals.
• Perform engineering calculations to support design, fabrication, and operations.
• Analyze and interpret data and the methods used to collect it.
• Present technical approaches, project plans, and documentation to peers and program managers.
• Utilize MES for data entry, part tracking, and manufacturing optimization.
