Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an On-Site Mechanical Engineer for a project near Baton Rouge, LA. The role requires leadership in field coordination of mechanical systems and collaboration with construction and design teams to ensure successful delivery of critical infrastructure.

Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in mechanical design, construction, commissioning or operations, including hyperscale data center environments, and a strong grasp of industry standards and field problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Requires: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 10+ years in mechanical design/construction or 5+ years in hyperscale data centers.
• Experience with HVAC, cooling plants, CRAH/CRAC systems, piping and mission-critical environments.
• Strong knowledge of specs, codes, and industry standards; ability to assess field conditions and provide practical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the on-site representative for HVAC, cooling, piping, and other mechanical systems.
• Perform daily site observations to monitor installation progress and workmanship.
• Coordinate design clarifications and field solutions with project stakeholders.
