Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an On-Site Mechanical Engineer for a project near Baton Rouge, LA. The role focuses on supporting installation, coordinating between construction teams and design, and delivering critical mechanical infrastructure.

You will lead field activities, participate in constructability reviews, and drive resolution of issues to keep the project on schedule. The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering degree and 10+ years of design/installation experience, including hyperscale data

Qualifications

• 10+ years in mechanical design, construction, commissioning, or operations.
• Experience in data center environments preferred.
• Strong knowledge of codes and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Serve as on-site representative for HVAC, cooling, piping, and other mechanical systems.
• Perform daily site observations to assess progress and workmanship.
• Coordinate design clarifications and field solutions with stakeholders.
• Support RFIs, submittals, equipment substitutions, and field conflicts.
• Attend project meetings and provide technical guidance on mechanical systems.
