Jacobs is seeking an On-Site Mechanical Engineer for a project near Baton Rouge, LA. You will represent mechanical systems on-site, coordinating between construction teams and engineering design, to ensure installation quality and timely delivery of critical infrastructure.

Requirements include a Mechanical Engineering degree and 10+ years of relevant experience (or 5+ years in hyperscale data centers), with strong communication and field problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline is required.
• 10+ years of mechanical design, construction, commissioning, or operations experience (or 5+ years in hyperscale data center environments).
• Experience with chilled water systems, cooling plants, CRAH/CRAC systems, piping systems, in mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Be the primary on-site representative for HVAC, cooling, piping, and other mechanical systems.
• Conduct daily site observations to assess installation progress and workmanship.
• Coordinate mechanical design clarifications and field solutions with stakeholders.
• Respond to RFIs, submittals, equipment substitutions, and field conflicts.
• Review equipment layouts and utility routing; coordinate between trades.
