CME Associates, Inc. is hiring a Construction Materials Testing Technician to support hands-on material testing for commercial construction in the Greater Elmira area.

This full-time on-site role involves travel to project sites and close coordination with project teams to ensure quality and compliance with specifications. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma (associate or bachelor’s preferred), be prepared to obtain ACI/ICC certifications, and bring familiarity with soils,

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, engineering technology, geology, or related field is preferred but not mandatory
• Ability and willingness to obtain industry certifications through ACI and ICC — full support provided by CME
• Familiarity with construction materials, procedures, and documentation is a plus
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed
• Pursue ongoing professional development, including preparation for certifications through the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and ICC (ICC)

Responsibilities

• Perform quality assurance testing on construction materials such as soils and concrete at commercial job sites
• Interpret construction drawings and specifications accurately, ensuring test results align with project requirements
• Complete all testing assignments with precision, adhering to applicable standards and industry best practices
• Document and report findings clearly and concisely, providing reliable data for project teams
• Maintain open communication with supervisors, delivering timely updates on project progress and test outcomes
• Pursue ongoing professional development, including preparation for certifications through the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and International Code Council (ICC)
