Job summary

Certerra-Southern Engineering is hiring a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician to perform testing of various construction materials on active construction sites to verify compliance with project documents. Responsibilities include inspecting concrete, grout and mortar, asphalt, and soil/aggregate samples with tests such as slump, air content, density, moisture, and bearing capacity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license and insurability by firm carrier required.
• Excellent organizational skills required.
• Ability to work independently and/or within team environments.

Responsibilities

• Concrete/Grout/Mortar inspection and testing: monitor placement techniques, test slump, air content, unit weight, temperature, and mold compressive strength specimens.
• Asphalt testing: establish test locations, check load temperature, verify density/quality, and core drilling for density/thickness.
• Soil/Aggregate testing: test density/compaction, observe proofrolling, verify moisture content, bearing capacity, and excavation quantification.
