Job summary

Airbus DS Government Solutions Inc in Plano, TX seeks a Materials Expeditor I to support production schedules by expediting materials and monitoring purchase orders. This on-site, temporary role requires collaboration with Purchasing, Planning, Inventory, Receiving, Production, and Quality teams.

The candidate will identify delays, communicate updates, and maintain ERP/MRP records to ensure timely material availability and accurate status reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical/supply-chain coursework preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience in manufacturing, purchasing, inventory, logistics, warehouse, or material expediting.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, satellite communications, electronics, or government-contract manufacturing preferred.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred.
• Ability to read and understand purchase orders, part numbers, quantities, delivery requirements, and basic manufacturing documentation.
• Ability to communicate professionally with suppliers and internal personnel.
• Must demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, confidentiality, teamwork, and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, schedule-driven manufacturing environment and appropriately escape issues requiring additional authority.

Responsibilities

• Monitor assigned purchase orders and follow up with suppliers regarding order status and delivery commitments.
• Obtain and communicate updated supplier delivery dates and shipment information.
• Maintain accurate material and purchase-order status within ERP/MRP systems.
• Identify overdue, late, or potentially late materials and communicate concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with researching material shortages, receiving discrepancies, incorrect quantities, and documentation issues.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Planning, Inventory, Receiving, Production, and Quality to resolve routine material issues.
• Support identification and escalation of material shortages that could affect production schedules.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to material status.
• Perform other purchasing, inventory, expediting, and material-control duties as assigned.
