Job summary

CLGT Solutions, LLC dba CLOVEHITCH seeks qualified on-site Marshallese interpreters to provide professional in-person interpretation across the Hawaiian Islands. This is an independent contractor position (1099) with assignments at multiple client sites year-round.

Must pass background checks; ILR 2+ English and Marshallese; experience in health/legal/social services preferred; travel to neighboring islands may be required.

Qualifications

• Proficient in English and Marshallese (ILR 2+), with health/legal vocab.
• Experience interpreting in professional or social services settings.
• Government/healthcare/legal/social services interpreting preferred.
• Interpreter training or certification (e.g., CCHI/CMI) preferred.
• Knowledge of interpreter ethics; confidentiality and impartiality.
• Familiarity with Hawaii Pacific Islander communities; Chuukese/Marshallese/Samoan language knowledge preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills; able to stay composed in high-stakes situations.
• Ability to work in-person at various client sites across Hawaii.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, impartial in-person interpretation between client staff and LEP clients.
• Interpret in the first person, relaying all content completely and without editing.
• Serve as a neutral liaison to ensure mutual understanding between parties.
• Adhere to interpreter ethics, including confidentiality, impartiality, and accuracy.
