Job summary

CLOVEHITCH is seeking qualified on-site Hawaiian interpreters to provide professional interpretation services across the Hawaiian Islands. This independent contractor role requires accurate, complete, and impartial interpretation between client staff and LEP clients.

Applicants should exhibit strong communication skills and familiarity with interpreter ethics. Work is assigned on an as-needed basis, and contractors are responsible for their own taxes. This position is open only to individuals authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Must provide accurate interpretation in health, legal, and social services domains.
• Prior experience in government, healthcare, legal, or social services settings preferred.
• Familiarity with Hawaii's Pacific Islander communities is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide impartial in-person interpretation between staff and clients.
• Serve as a communication liaison, ensuring mutual understanding.
• Adhere to professional interpreter codes of ethics.

Working proficiency in English and target language (ILR 2+)
