Job summary

Galvion seeks an experienced Supervisor I, Manufacturing in Newport, Vermont. This hands-on leadership role oversees Team Leads and staff to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality production, while driving continuous improvement.

You will lead staffing, monitor schedules, and coach employees to develop skills and achieve department goals. Emphasis on safety, quality, and Lean initiatives across multiple functions.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of leadership in manufacturing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead, coach, and develop employees in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
• Mechanical aptitude and injection molding experience are a plus.
• Military experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to manufacturing employees and Team Leads.
• Coordinate staffing, assignments, and daily production priorities.
• Monitor production schedules and performance to meet customer and operational requirements.
• Promote safety, quality, accountability, and teamwork.
• Support Lean and 6S initiatives to improve efficiency and workplace conditions.
• Coach, train, and develop employees and support cross-training.
• Monitor performance metrics and communicate issues to leadership.
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, HR and others to solve problems and improve processes.
• Ensure manufacturing activities comply with policies, SOPs, and safety requirements.
• Identify and communicate issues impacting production or department goals.
