VOA Illinois is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections to ensure a safe, functional living environment for residents. You will collaborate with the Property Manager and HMJ staff to manage unit turnovers, service requests, and property cleanliness across indoor and outdoor spaces.

The role requires strong diagnostic skills, 2+ years in property maintenance, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent); must read, write, and communicate fluently in English
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in property maintenance
• Prior janitorial, custodial, or facilities experience preferred
• Ability to perform beginning-to-intermediate mathematical functions
• Strong organizational and customer service skills
• Proven diagnostic skills and hands-on experience with appliances, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, roofing, pest control

Responsibilities

• Maintain budgeted cost guidelines for property maintenance
• Order supplies, parts, and equipment; notify Property Manager of needed purchases
• Assist with unit turnover to meet rent-ready standards
• Conduct regular property inspections and perform repairs as needed
• Follow safety policies and use required safety equipment
• Perform safety inspections and maintain key control procedures
• Clean and sanitize spaces and maintain floors, windows, walls, fixtures
• Respond to maintenance requests with timely follow-up
