Job summary

West Side Federation for Senior & Supportive Housing, Inc. is seeking a full-time Superintendent to oversee on-site maintenance, housekeeping, and safety across multiple sites.

The role reports to the Property Manager and ensures clean, safe, and well-maintained living spaces for residents and staff. The position requires coordinating with department heads, supervising one porter, and maintaining detailed records and reports.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED and trade/maintenance experience.
• Experience supervising staff and coordinating with multiple departments.
• Ability to read and follow safety, building codes, and maintenance procedures.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Supervise housekeeping and porters to maintain cleanliness and safety.
• Maintain and document building maintenance, inventory, and reports.
• Respond to tenant work requests within 24 hours and address emergencies.
• Coordinate with department heads to ensure clean, safe, and compliant building operations.
• Prepare vacant apartments for occupancy within 30 days.
• Assist with procurement of supplies and upkeep of maintenance logs.
