Job summary

The position emphasizes building safety, code compliance with NYC regulations, and timely unit turnover while supporting tenants and program staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of training or 3 years of related work experience.
• 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Fingerprinted and cleared by the NY State Justice Center.
• Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs and work overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
• Inspect building systems and common areas regularly.
• Review and prioritize maintenance requests by priority level and manage via Yardi and Maintenance IQ.
• Assign work orders and monitor status; close out tasks with proper documentation.
• Oversee boiler, elevator and other mechanical systems for code compliance.
• Ensure cleanliness of common areas and coordination with sanitation services.
• Coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs and inspections and communicate with program staff.
